4th International Conference on Cardiac Imaging and Diagnostics
Heart attacks can occur at any
time and in any season, there is medical proof to show that the risk of heart
attacks increases in cold weather.
Hypothermia in cold conditions can take additional stress on the heart, and
this might cause a heart attack.
REASONS FOR CARDIAC STRESS
coldness causes constriction of coronary arteries can increases the severity and frequency rate of
angina attacks.
In cold conditions, our body loses heat so fast. So
that the more difficult for your body to maintain a healthy temperature. Blood
has to be circulated and this causes a much strain on the heart.
Cold conditions can cause contraction of blood vessels
.This has the double effect of reducing blood flow to the body, leading to
increased metabolic stress. It also could increase blood pressure levels. Both
of these leads to unnecessary stress on the heart.
Risk Factors
·
The person feel any stress or discomfort, especially
chest pain, living in a cold climate, without delay and avoid placing any
stress on the heart until no danger sign of
heart attack.
Having an existing heart
condition. This means risk chances are high.
·
Age is key factor contributes to heart attacks.
A old aged person finds himself more
difficult to stay warm in such cold
conditions becauseof slower metabolic response
causes difficulty in warmth for circulation throughout the body. In such a case stress level raises is placed on the heart
to pump more blood.
Any existing
severity of illness or in the recovery stag the body is
not as strong as it supposed to be. This
channels to an increased risk of infections. Some sicknesses can lead to
increased load on heart.
Prevention
•
Stay warm.
•
Drink maximum amount of water. Cold weather can
cause dehydration, which affect the metabolic system.
•
Have light meals, so that are easy to digest.
•
Avoid continuous moving from indoors to
outdoors. Sudden temperature changes can stress body and heart.
•
Consult a doctor if it’s uncomfortable.
·
If person has no
history of cardiac problems but
causing any pain or discomfort in the chest or upper arms, consult a
physician with in no time. It may be
·
chance for
detection of cardiac issue early before it runs into a severe heart atta
